Experience
As Georgia Mechanical’s COO, Tommy Sanders brings over 35 years of extensive HVAC industry experience to oversee the company’s operations. His diverse background spans various roles, giving him a comprehensive understanding from multiple perspectives.
Tommy began his HVAC career as a sheet metal mechanic, progressing through positions such as lead foreman, project manager, estimator, pre-construction manager, and senior project manager. This hands-on experience has given him invaluable insights into every aspect of HVAC projects and operations.
Joining Georgia Mechanical in 2011, Tommy quickly became integral to the company’s leadership. His roles evolved from VP of Construction to his current position as COO, where he continues to drive the company’s operational excellence and growth. Tommy has worked on projects of various sizes, scopes, and values throughout his career. His portfolio includes projects ranging from $500,000 to $13 million, including retail, K-12 schools, universities, medical facilities, hospitality, and municipal buildings.
He is committed to fostering industry relationships and community involvement. He has been actively engaged with organizations such as Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and has served on various community boards.
Interests
Outside of work, Tommy is an avid traveler and golfer. He’s also a passionate Georgia Bulldogs fan, enjoying Saturdays in Athens watching football. Above all, he values quality time with his family.
